„The contrast between current technological advances, the pace of life, and our emotional and intellectual limitations creates a stimulus that affects us and that is a bottomless source of inspiration. I experimented with various techniques, but lithography enchanted me.  It best suits my artistic expression. There is tradition. It still carries a powerful inner secret.

The way I print includes an element of uncertainty about the result; you have a feeling of adventure and excitement throughout the whole process. For me, the material component of traditional techniques is an integral part of printmaking: lithographic stone, pencils and crayons, washes, brushes, turpentine, gum arabic and other things. Plus, their tactile qualities, their smell, the need to concentrate, the magic of completing a drawing, printing, and the atmosphere in the studio. Constant soul-searching is the artist´s inner world.“

Miroslav Posvic

Curator Alena Laufrova:

Miroslav Pošvic has chosen multicolor lithography. His inspiration comes from nature and the universe, from primitive and sophisticated forms of life. In his works, he deals with subtle relationships in the natural world and in human society. Pošvic‘s unexpected compositions with mysterious forms, unusual structures and contrasting elements surprise with diversity and fantasy. Sensitive, imaginative coloring intimately underscores the author‘s message. His distinctive, innovative translation of natural motifs is intensified by his technical mastery.
